About This Opportunity  

The School of Communication and Arts seeks to appoint a teaching focused Lecturer to grow their teaching impact through leadership in course coordination aligned with UQ values. The successful candidate will engage in internal and external collaborations that influence teaching practices, policies, and/or knowledge.

Key responsibilities will include:  

  • Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counseling, and adhere to university teaching rules. 

  • Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

About You

Applicants should possess a PhD or equivalent in English Literature or a closely related field and have expertise in contemporary fiction, postmodern literature and literary theory, and the capacity to contribute to courses in gender and textuality.

Additionally, you will demonstrate:

  • Evidence of high-quality university teaching across a variety of settings, including small and large groups with course coordination responsibilities.

  • An emerging profile of teaching impact.

  • Participation in curriculum development at the program and/or course level

  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in teaching and learning.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, education check.
