Game Designer / Mathematician

Sydney (Hybrid Work)

Are you passionate about gaming and excited by the challenge of building complex mathematical models from scratch? We are seeking a talented Game Designer / Mathematician to join a leading Sydney-based studio developing innovative slot machine games for the global market.

�� Role Overview  

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Hybrid working model: 3–4 days per week in the Sydney office
  • Salary: $80,000–$150,000 + super (depending on experience)
  • Macquarie Park, Sydney NSW

�� Responsibilities  

  • Contribute to all aspects of slot design, mathematics, modelling, and simulation.
  • Design slot machine games from scratch with both creative and mathematical input.
  • Develop complete slot machine mathematical models including:
  • Paytables
  • Reel strips
  • RTP
  • Volatility models
  • Feature probabilities
  • Game-flow simulations
  • Build and run advanced simulations to validate game behaviour and regulatory compliance.
  • Produce detailed documentation aligned with market and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (design, art, engineering, compliance).

Skills & Experience  

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) with a strong mathematical component (B-Maths preferred).
  • 2–5 years' experience designing slot machine games (land-based, iGaming, or social casino).
  • Proven ability to design slot machines is essential.
  • Experience creating mathematical models for slot games from scratch.
  • Must provide a list of previously designed slot machine game titles.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel essential).
  • Programming experience desirable (C#, C++, or Python preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
