As part of our employment and training initiatives, we deliver Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) programs designed to help disadvantaged Queenslanders gain the skills, qualifications, and confidence needed to enter the workforce.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking 2 x passionate and experienced Supervisor/Trainers to lead the delivery of Certificate I in Hospitality under the SQW program. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about vocational training, empowering individuals, and making a real difference in the lives of veterans and community members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support participants throughout the Certificate I in Hospitality training program.
- Deliver engaging, hands-on hospitality training aligned with national training standards.
- Preparing and cooking a variety of meals that will be offered to veterans and their families that are in crisis, experiencing homelessness or escaping family and domestic violence
- Mentor and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds, including veterans and long-term unemployed individuals.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor participant progress and provide regular feedback.
- Liaise with the RTO (Registered Training Organisation) to ensure compliance and quality of training delivery.
- Assist in job placement or further training opportunities for participants.
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant qualifications and/or significant experience in the hospitality industry.
- Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable cohorts or in community-based programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for helping others succeed.
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children) and Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable:
- Experience in delivering SQW or similar employment/training programs.
- Background in working with vulnerable people or understanding of the veteran community.
