Job DescriptionAs a Project & System Services Engineer, you will lead the development, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of advanced networking systems to ensure top performance and reliability. You will manage projects from initiation to completion, balancing budgets and timelines while exceeding stakeholder expectations. Your role will be crucial in driving revenue through effective project management, technical support, solution design, and customer engagement.
Working in the Internet of Things (IoT) space, you will ensure the smooth operation of solutions, maintaining constant communication within the team and with suppliers. Additionally, you will train customers to operate the systems and troubleshoot any issues that may arise at the network, software, or data level.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the company's products, services, and solutions. Stay updated on industry trends and engage with key stakeholders regarding new Smart Metering rules by industry and government agencies.
- Project Management: Oversee customer projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet stakeholder expectations and project objectives.
- System Support: Understand telecommunication networks, cloud-based solutions, and Smart City applications. Set up and maintain customer systems, including configurations, system installation, and enforcing company standards.
- Solution Design: Analyse customer requirements to develop tailored solutions. Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to support proposals and quotes, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with customer needs.
- Optimisation & Performance: Maximize system performance by monitoring, troubleshooting, and scheduling upgrades. Conduct on-site visits as needed to resolve issues and collaborate with vendor support staff.
- Product Training & Support: Conduct training for customers and internal stakeholders on the company's software and solutions. Provide ongoing support to customers post-sales.
- Customer Helpdesk Management: Maintain and manage the customer helpdesk, ensuring the knowledge base, ticketing systems, and project documentation are accurate and up to date. Provide KPI data as required and train customers on using the helpdesk system.
- Project Rollouts & Support: Ensure network connectivity, software availability, and uninterrupted data flow for new deployments. Provide inductions and training for new client deployments.
- Service Level Agreements: Ensure client Service Level Agreements are met or exceeded.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or similar.
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Valid Driver's license (unrestricted)
- Full working rights in Australia
Desirable
- Experience or knowledge of the Lighting Industry.
- Previous experience in technical project management or customer-facing sales roles.
- Working knowledge of MS Project
Skills & Knowledge
- Software developer with a strong foundation in coding, with a preference for Python.
- Experienced in integrating and managing supplier systems.
- Ability to handle cloud-based solution implementation and management, with a preference for AWS and Azure.
- Proficient in using MS Project for planning, scheduling, and managing project tasks and resources.
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and practices, since the role involves travel and fieldwork.
