The Opportunity:

We are a Perth based ICT Consultancy in who works with multiple Government Departments.

Due to a large upcoming project, we are looking to hire an experienced Solution Architect on an ongoing long-term 2 year+ contract role. This large program of work will involve engaging with multiple stakeholder and various vendors to deliver a new large scale IT system implementation project. Ideally, we are looking for an experienced Architect with WA government industry experience and previous experience working on large systems implementation or replacement projects. Including experience inputting to Business Cases, WA Government Tender submissions, tender evaluations and transition planning.  Any previous experience of Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and/or emergency services industry highly regarded.

Key Deliverables:

  • Support of sound planning and implementation designs of the project from a solution architecture perspective
  • The development of project solution architecture designs
  • Collaboratively work with project teams to understand business requirements and define possible solutions
  • Provision of technical advice/guidance and subject matter expertise
  • Production of conceptual and logical architecture design(s), including solution options and cost estimates
  • Active trouble shooting to diagnose system technology issues within the required environments
  • Contribution to the Solutions Architecture Documentation
  • Analysis and design including Design patterns, Security, Auditing models etc.
  • Conducting of security risk assessments
  • Utilising entity modelling with Enterprise Architecture modelling tools
  • Consultation with integration architects to ensure solution meets business requirements
  • Co-ordinate and drive the delivery of a solution architecture document that is reliant on contributions from various parties (i.e. service providers, subject matter experts, business analysts, technical architects, etc.).
  • Reporting on project outcomes, deliverables, and milestones to the Project Manager and Contract Manager
  • Consultation with enterprise architecture team to ensure alignment with the Departments strategic and architectural direction
  • Assistance with the development of detailed physical or technical designs aligned to the solution architecture
  • Working with Business Analysts and Specialists to ensure business requirements are understood and correctly translated into technical specifications
  • Provide architectural guidance to ensure system functionality and cost efficiencies
  • Interpret product and project requirements and translate these into solutions that can be implemented by the technical work teams via detailed technical design documents to match the solution design specifications
  • Ensure that all components of the technical architecture are properly integrated and implemented

Background & Experience:

  • Proven track record as a Solution Architect within the government sector
  • Ideally TOGAF certified
  • Proven and demonstrable experience in developing solution design and estimates
  • Must have integrity, be ethical and professional at all times
  • Significant experience in the development of technical documentation and interface design
  • Drive for Outcomes: commitment to delivering successful results individually or through a team.

  • Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture
  • Collaborative: strong interpersonal skills and team focused
  • Advanced Stakeholder Management

Nice to have:

  • Any previous experience working within the emergency services industry
  • Any previous exposure to Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and/or Mobility Systems highly desirable
