
AOD Residential Care Worker

About the role: At our Residential rehab, you'll find yourself in a position to support people through life-changing recovery journeys in a trauma-informed, and person-centred environment.
Use your lived experience with AOD and Therapeutic Communities to offer genuine empathy and understanding. You will be working in a mutually supportive team environment, where your contributions are valued and you support residents overnight and on weekends, ensuring their safety, comfort, and emotional wellbeing. You will also get to drive participants on social outings on weekends.
Hours and location: We're looking for team members with flexible availability to work sleepover shifts, weekends, and public holidays at our site in Binna Burra, near Bangalow.
Sleepover Shifts: Our staff sleep onsite between shifts.
Evening: 5:00pm – 11:00pm Morning (following sleepover): 6:00am – 8:45am
Weekend Day Shifts: Saturday & Sunday: 8:00am – 5:15pm
About you: Selection criteria: (Must be addressed in application – see "How to apply" below)
- Tertiary qualifications in AOD or Community Services or actively pursuing study in either of these areas
- Valid Driver's Licence with an ability to drive manual 11-seater buses safely.
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and current First Aid certificate
- Experience in a Therapeutic Community and relevant lived AOD experience.
- An understanding of the Recovery model and the issues associated with AOD use.
- Computer literacy in MS Office, video conferencing applications and a variety of databases.
- Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity, equal employment opportunity, legislative compliance and workplace health and safety.
- Availability to work nights and weekends.

This role will be remunerated at SCHCDS Level 2 casual rates $44-47ph with access to salary packaging.
