We are seeking a Kitchen Steward at The Reef Hotel Casino, the pre-eminent centre for gaming, entertainment, food and accommodation in Cairns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleanliness of kitchens and loading areas by maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment whilst adhering to operational standards and procedures according to WH&S requirements.
  • Cleaning and organising dishes, taking stock of inventory, maintaining hygiene and quality in the kitchen, keeping a tab on breakage and replacements.

Criteria

  • Minimum 1-year experience as a steward/kitchen hand, preferably in a hotel environment.
  • An eye for detail.
  • Trained in the use of chemicals and manual handling.
  • Working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
  • The ability to accommodate flexibility with hours / shifts.
  • Able to work and be motivated when under pressure.
  • Committed team player, who contributes and assists co-workers without being asked.
