We're looking for a Payroll Officer to join our People & Culture team and help us deliver accurate, timely payroll services across Australia and New Zealand. This is a permanent role with flexible work arrangements, including 1-2 days per week in our Newcastle hub.

What you'll do:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for fortnightly and monthly cycles
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise agreements, awards, and legislation
  • Maintain accurate employee records and process variations
  • Provide advice on payroll matters and contribute to process improvements

About you

You're a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You love getting things right the first time and take pride in delivering exceptional service. You're confident interpreting awards and agreements and enjoy working collaboratively with others.

You'll bring:

  • Proven end-to-end payroll experience in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll systems (experience with CHRIS21 is a bonus)
  • Ability to interpret awards and enterprise agreements
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset
