Mr Fothergill's Seeds is a global consumer facing health & wellbeing retail horticulture business, driven by a purpose of 'Helping Everyone Grow' and powered through our three heritage brands and people's passion and expertise. About the Role

We are currently looking for a dynamic Merchandiser / Sales Representative to work in Central Melbourne

The role will support the growth ambitions of our business and our customers through sales and increased distribution of existing, and new products, throughout the territory.

You will manage a nominated sales territory, support seasonal promotional activity, build strong customer relationships, and oversee 3rd party serviced stores with the key performance measure being the achievement of the territory sales budget.

The role is suited to someone that is a self-starter, has good attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.

Requirements of the role:

  • Growing market share and product depth within the existing customer base.

  • Merchandising stores in line with presentation standards.

  • Achievement of sales budget.

  • Developing strong relationships with all customers.

  • Working closely with customers to set and execute promotional activity in key seasons.

  • Provide accurate and prompt feedback regarding activity in your territory including competitor activity.

  • Working with and training 3rd party merchandisers within your territory to ensure compliance to business and customer standards.

  • Maintaining and servicing an existing account base along with expanding relationships with key customers in the industry to ensure Mr Fothergills is the product of choice in the DIY and FMCG sector.

  • Working autonomously to manage and grow your customer base utilising effective planning and call cycle schedules.

  • Regional and overnight travel

  • Reporting on competition within the region

  • Liaising with internal departments to respond to customer enquiries and resolve any customer issues.

  • Continually seeking new business opportunities

  • Relevant experience in a similar position across the hardware or FMCG sector

  • Strong sales focus with the ability to manage and grow existing accounts.

  • A disciplined individual that can adhere to and manage a journey plan.

  • Have strong presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A high level of self-motivation

  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work efficiently and effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to suggest and implement strategies to aim for continuous improvement.

  • Be a self-starter looking for a challenging and rewarding position.

  • Current Australian Driver's license
