The role
As Reporting Coordinator you will work within a small team to deliver technical reports and support the issuance of Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) for a portfolio of existing and developing carbon farming projects.
The role leads projects through the reporting process, including preparing offsets reports for second and subsequent reporting periods, performing quality assurance on key input data, and updating grazing trackers and project monitoring information. It involves quality checking technical products received from the Spatial Team to determine abatement results, drafting offsets reports and report packs for HIR, Avoided Deforestation, and Savanna Burning projects, and assisting with the reporting of Environmental Plantings and Plantation Forestry projects.
The position also provides additional support for other aspects of the project reporting process as required.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing second and subsequent offsets reports, reporting packs, and responses to Clean Energy regulator (CER) Requests For Information (RFIs) as appropriate.
- Assisting in submitting relevant forms and key communications to the Clean Energy Regulator
- Drafting and reviewing project abatement forecasts, as required
- Acquiring project monitoring data in a timely fashion, and updating grazing trackers for each project
- Liaising with other internal teams, Project managers, and project proponents, to ensure Climate Friendly complies with reporting timelines for meeting obligations under delivery contracts, Service Agreements, and legislative requirements
- Ensuring the accurate and timely documentation of project information in the Climate Friendly CRM, including CER requests for further information and responses provided.
- Analysing legislation as required to provide guidance to the CER which supports signoff on submitted reports and issuance
- Supporting team process improvement projects
About you
Essential
- Skilled in report writing, MS Excel, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) such as QGIS
- Very high attention to detail, or experience in quality assurance/quality control processes
- Ability to work on multiple, complex projects at the same time, which may all be at different stages of the reporting cycle
- Experience in research and analysis of legislation
- Ability to perform well under tight, sometimes self-imposed deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised, yet as part of a small team
Desirable
- Familiarity with abatement modelling, such as the Reforestation Modelling Tool (RMT) and/or Full Carbon Accounting Model (FullCAM)
- Background in forestry or other environmental fields
- Knowledge about the agricultural sector
- Familiarity with the Emissions Reduction Fund
