We have a rare and exciting opportunity to join the team at Warragul Country Club in the position of full-time Sous Chef.
About the Club
Founded in 1907, the Warragul Country Club has been at the heart of our local community for more than a century and is one of Regional Victoria's leading community Sporting Clubs. We have a rich golfing history and enjoy a unique brand as a premier golf, hospitality, and entertainment venue offering sporting and social facilities to members and residents of Warragul and surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on our customer service and expect a lot from our team to ensure we deliver a unique and memorable experience for our customers.
About the role
You will join our passionate team of chefs who work in a well-equipped and spacious kitchen, dedicated to using and serving the highest quality produce whilst maintaining a standard of excellence.
You will:

Work closely with the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.

Adhere to health and safety standards, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient operation.

Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain accurate records to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly.

Help manage kitchen costs and minimise waste through efficient food preparation and inventory control.

Contribute to a high-performance work culture where standards of work and team values reflect quality, teamwork, passion, and hard work.
About you
With experience in a similar role, you will have a passion for food and an enthusiastic attitude for working collaboratively with the wider team.
You will have:

Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role in a high-quality, fast-paced kitchen environment.

An understanding of the logistics of restaurants and functions catering.

Strong leadership and communication skills to foster a positive and productive work environment.

Excellent organisation to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.

Certificate III Commercial Cookery Trade Certificate or similar.

Flexibility to work lunch, dinner, weekends, and public holidays on a rotating roster.

Open, honest and respectful communication.
