Base salary will be in the range $82,133 - $91, % Superannuation (HEW Level 5)

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Event Sales Coordinator to join the professional Customs House team. This role is responsible for securing, planning and co-ordinating events including conferences, seminars and weddings for corporate, University and private clients. To achieve growth and financial success of Customs House and to maintain the reputation of Customs House as one of Brisbane's premier function venues.
We aim to exceed clients' expectations and ensure that every function is a success hence maintaining the reputation of Customs House as a premier function venue of the University of Queensland and contributing to the growth and success of the organisational unit.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Managing event enquiries, sales leads and client liaison including site inspections
Preparing detailed proposals and quotes for theming, entertainment, AV and technical requirements
Coordinating events collaboratively with clients, Customs House operations, Chef, Banquets and Accounts
Preparing and distribute event manifests and detailed run sheets
Liaising with external suppliers and assist Accounts with payments, pro-forma invoices and supplier invoice checks
Attending regular event and operations meetings
Using Microsoft Office, Visio and Momentus software
Working flexible hours as required

Degree-level (or equivalent) event management qualifications with 2+ years' hotel / hospitality experience
Strong administration, organisation, negotiation and mediation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication with a customer-focused approach
Confident managing competing priorities, working under pressure and to deadlines
Proficient with event management software and general computer applications
High standards of professionalism and service excellence
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
