The opportunity
We have a Head of Teaching and Learning position available commencing Term 1, 2026. The Head of Teaching and Learning (Years F-12) at Endeavour Christian College has responsibility to ensure the integrity and quality of the education provided across the College. The Head of Teaching and Learning is responsible for the learning, teaching, curriculum, and academic administration of the College, consistent with the AITSL Professional Standards. A key aspect of the role is to assist teaching team members in the development of effective student learning. This position reports directly to the Principal. Additionally, the person in this position is required to work productively with the Primary & Secondary Coordinator, the Inclusive Education Coordinator, and other key stakeholders as we collectively focus of student engagement, achievement, faith and wellbeing.
The role is a Position of Added Responsibility (PAR) role within the CCM structure of the College and has tenure for up to three years until a review is complete.
Position responsibilities
The Head of Teaching & Learning (Years F–12) is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal and is responsible for the following areas:
Key Responsibilities to Students
Track data to ensure academic levels are maintained at expected standards with data informed decision making.
Understand and oversee the learning progress of students ranging from advanced learners to learners needing support.
Work with teaching staff to develop, then regularly review and refine unit and lesson plans that are compliant with ACARA and promote a Christian Worldview.
As directed by the Principal and working in partnership with other curriculum leaders, mentor and support teachers of Years F-12. This will include making classroom observations and providing constructive feedback. The intent is to assist the development and application of strategies that facilitate student learning success.
As directed by the Principal, and working in partnership with the Inclusive Education Coordinator, assist teachers to develop strategies to meet the needs of students within the Inclusive Education program.
Teach students as the timetable directs.
Key Curriculum Responsibilities
Guided by the Principal, coordinate the development, implementation, documentation, maintenance and review of the College's approach to curriculum, programs, pedagogy, assessment and reporting.
Develop and advance effective and efficient quality moderation and reporting processes within the college.
Oversee the implementation of the Endeavour Christian College Shared Pedagogy for Years F-12.
Oversee the delivery of a meaningful exploration and fulfilment of the Years F–12.
Assist teachers to develop and implement a clear Christian distinctive in their curriculum and pedagogy.
Assist teachers to understand the National Curriculum (ACARA), and as appropriate, QCCA Senior Curriculum and ensure its implementation in each Learning Area.
In partnership with the Principal oversee the implementation and review of the Literacy and Numeracy program (including Year 3-9 NAPLAN).
In partnership with the College Leadership Team identify teacher strengths and needs for development that results in timely, training to meet individual and college needs.
In partnership with the Inclusive Education Coordinator, oversee effective teacher development, review and maintenance of Negotiated Education Plans for Inclusive Education Students.
Liaise with external personnel as necessary to enhance curriculum development as directed by the Principal. Further provide timely feedback to Principal on the effectiveness of curriculum programs, pedagogy and reporting for Years F-12.
Oversee and monitor other program deliveries as directed by the Principal.
Key Learning Area Oversight Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Principal to develop, review and refine the curriculum documentation.
Work in partnership with Primary and Secondary Coordinators to ensure a holistic approach to the learning needs of a child are considered and attended to. The work of our Coordinators contributes significantly to our core student outcomes: engagement, achievement, faith and wellbeing.
Work with teaching staff to assist them access CCM resources. Further assist staff to centrally store records of planning, assessment and student results.
Support teaching staff during periods of change (new subjects, processes, policies, refined / different approaches to teaching).
Assisting with the effective onboarding, induction and mentoring of all new staff members, especially in relation to the teaching and learning programs and staff professional development expectations.
Coaching staff members in the use of technology to improve their teaching practice; monitoring staff engagement with the CCM LMS and ensure assessment and feedback is up to date, easy to access, and consistent with College policy and procedures.
A personal and professional commitment to continual school improvement is a key component of this position, ensuring the College continues to build on strong academic outcomes and the provision of Christian education.
Key Administration Responsibilities
Plan and meet strategic goals in student learning and attainment through effective and productive partnership with the College's leadership team.
Oversee processes to ensure timely electronic storage of resources and plans on the College Learning Management system that inform the required teaching and learning at the college (this includes subject units and plans). Then conduct audits to ensure quality control.
Make recommendations regarding resources and programs to meet the College's curriculum needs.
Communicate effectively and efficiently with key stakeholders in all relevant matters.
Analyse Literacy and Numeracy data in conjunction with the College Leadership, Inclusive Education. Coordinator, and relevant teacher. As an adjunct, oversee quality control of Literacy and Numeracy initiatives (including NAPLAN).
Actively participate in meetings relevant to the role and as directed by the Principal.
As required, convene meetings relevant to advancing the achievement of student outcomes, within your area of responsibility.
Working with Principal actively support the process of collation and communication of student progress reports and the subsequent College parent teacher interviews (Years F-12).
Key Professional Responsibilities
- Involvement in ongoing professional learning related to the role
- Active participation in Teaching and Learning meetings
- Any other responsibilities as needed and directed by the Principal.

Conditions:
- Tenure: Three years (can be negotiated)
- Remuneration: Teaching Proficiency Level as per EA 2024 schedule: Document Search | Fair Work Commission, plus PAR 15-20% allowance. Terms and conditions of employment are as per the Christian Community Ministries Schools Enterprise Agreement 2024.
