Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is in Frenchs Forest, only 13kms north of Sydney CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. Providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.

NBH has 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.

The Outpatients Department at Northern Beaches Hospital is looking for a friendly, experienced medical administration staff member for a casual ward clerk position. Our ward clerks provide outstanding customer care to patients and their families. This is a great role for driven - patient care focused individuals who are wanting to achieve a dynamic career in healthcare.

As a Ward Clerk your responsibilities will include:

• providing patient-centred customer service including:
• greet all customers
• handle enquires with a friendly and professional manner
• book, reschedule & bill appointments
• maintain accurate and timely patient information data collection and processing of medical records,
• liase with medical staff
• undertaking general administration duties,
• liaison with other areas of the hospital,
• management of patient electronic records ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of patient information.

Essential Criteria:

• highly developed interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to work in multidisciplinary work environments,
• good computer literacy & sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel),
• a track record of providing great service and customer experience,
• strong interpersonal communication and report writing skills,
• ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
• ability to multitask with competing priorities
