Exceed Laser Pty Ltd is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice CNC Machinist to join our growing team in Richlands, Queensland. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge CNC machinery in a supportive and innovative workshop.

About the Role

As an Apprentice CNC Machinist, you will be trained in all aspects of CNC machining, including how to set up, operate, and maintain state-of-the-art equipment. You'll work alongside highly skilled machinists and learn how to produce precision components to meet industry standards.

This is a full-time position with structured on-the-job training and the opportunity to complete a nationally recognised trade qualification.

What You'll Be Doing (With Training & Support):

CNC Machining Basics

• Learn to program and operate CNC lathes and milling machines
• Assist with setting up jobs and monitoring machine operations
• Develop understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials

Quality Control & Inspection

• Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to check accuracy
• Learn to verify components against engineering specifications and tolerances

Technical Interpretation

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and job instructions
• Understand basic CAD/CAM software (e.g. Fusion 360 or OneCNC) — training provided

Safety & Organisation

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
• Follow workplace health and safety protocols

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with experienced machinists, supervisors, and other team members
• Report progress, ask questions, and contribute to a positive team culture

What We're Looking For:

• A genuine interest in engineering, mechanics, or manufacturing
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Strong attention to detail and pride in doing quality work
• Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic about building a long-term career
• Completed Year 10 or above (preferred)

Previous experience is not required — just bring your motivation and a willingness to learn
