Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant- Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services d). This position is also being advertised as an Allied Health Professionals L6). The position will be filled on a merit base.

The Team:

This role is within a multidisciplinary team under the Department of Health Tasmania. The team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health care to children, adolescents, and their families.

The team includes professionals from various disciplines such as:

• Psychology
• Social Work
• Occupational Therapy
• Speech Pathology
• Nursing and Medical staff

Together, they provide:

• Comprehensive assessments
• Therapeutic interventions
• Assertive case management
• Community engagement and education

The team works collaboratively within a supportive framework, guided by national mental health standards and evidence-based practices. They are committed to promoting mental wellness, early intervention, and continuity of care across Tasmania's diverse communities.

The Role:

As part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, our team – Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS):

• Undertakes the delivery of quality care to clients of CAMHS based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary framework.
• Provides a specialist assessment and treatment service to clients of CAMHS and their families or carers.
• Promotes community awareness in relation to mental health and acts as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with mental health needs.

You will need to:

• Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical service through the provision of assessment, case management and individual therapies, including specialised therapies for clients and their families or carers.
• Provide evidence-based assessment and treatment interventions for clients with major and complex mental health problems, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs.
• Function as an active member of a multi-disciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 13 March 2026.

Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance withNurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
• Current Working with Children Registration

It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. • Postgraduate qualification or working towards a postgraduate qualification relevant to the role
