Ready for an exciting challenge? Whitsunday Regional Council is seeking a proactive RMPC Works Supervisor to lead the maintenance, construction, and defect reporting of our roads and drainage assets. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise the daily activities of assigned work crews in relation to road and drainage construction and repairs, under the guidance of the Works Coordinator.
  2. Ensure that Traffic Management Plans are provided for all daily projects to ensure the safety of the public and work teams.
  3. Perform asset inspections as required by the Works Coordinator to assess condition and compliance.

Operational Accountabilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Assets Inspector to develop and maintain the asset management system for roads and drainage.
  2. Conduct regular defect inspections of the road and drainage network and maintain a defects backlog for future repairs.
  3. Assist the Works Coordinator in developing work programs based on the defects backlog database.
  4. Regularly assess the condition of Whitsunday Regional Council's roads and drainage assets.
  5. Oversee handover inspections for developed assets coming off maintenance.
  6. Manage the Road Works Permit system, including approving driveway permits, conducting inspections, and ensuring proper acceptance procedures.

Your skills and experience:

Essential

  1. Class MR Driver's Licence (or willingness to obtain)
  2. Construction Safety Induction (White card)
  3. Traffic Control Ticket (or willingness to obtain)
  4. Traffic Management Implementation (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable

  1. Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision
  2. 5 years supervisory experience
  3. Multiple plant competencies
