Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Software Engineering Background - Java, Golang - circa $220k package + bonus.

We have multiple roles within a global platform team of 50, working to build tools, influence design decisions, and drive best practices for reliability.

These roles differ slightly from a typical SRE, where they serve as first-line responders or on-call support, often lacking proper software engineering skills.

We need strong software engineers who understand the concepts of reliability.

Have you had experience in designing distributed systems, troubleshooting production problems at scale, and understanding what can go wrong when systems are deployed to production?

Are you capable of designing solutions, automating processes, and identifying architectural problems, such as missing circuit breakers or fallback patterns?

Breaking up these roles in %... I'd say it's 60% coding, building new tools and automating processes, and 40% best practices, identifying bad patterns, recommending tool usage, and driving adoption conversations with other engineering managers, demonstrating how tools solve specific problems.

Tech Stack: Java, Go, Shell, AWS, GCP, RDS Aurora, Pub/Sub, Terraform, Dynatrace, Kubernetes, EC2, Sumo Logic.
