Position Description:

As a member of the Electrical Integration Team responsible for the design and maintenance of the Electrical Systems for Underground Loaders and Trucks for the hard rock mining applications, you will report to the Electrical team lead within the Hard Rock business unit.

You will learn and be responsible for designing electrical systems, managing projects, component mounting design, releasing drawings, Factory Support as well as updating literature and parts.

Participating in production roll outs, you will conduct both analysis and validation to ensure the success of projects.

Responsible for making design changes, you will consult with multiple areas of the business including other functional design areas, international team members, and agency staff members.

Position Responsibilities:

In this role your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding Electrical schematic system for Underground trucks and loaders

  • Produce drawings for electrical harnesses and parts

  • Manage timelines and projects from an electrical perspective

  • Gather relevant information, compare and contrast data, identify relationships and predict performance

  • Begin partnering with and providing technical guidance within and between teams

  • Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units

  • Contribute to the design of new products and processes

  • Perform product and process maintenance

  • Ensure design meets ISO and all relevant standards

Key Skills Required:

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.

  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

  • Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialised graphics programs; ability to produce, analyse, simulate and test product design drafts.

  • Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.

  • Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechatronics, or approved Engineering discipline

  • Strong analytical skills and some relevant experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in 3D modelling, Electrical & Electronic control systems.

  • Mobile equipment design/maintenance, and experience in mining. are all desirable attributes

  • Working environment - 5 days in office
