Electronics and Communications Apprentice

What you'll be doing…

You will complete a Certificate lll Electronics and Communications qualification over 48 months through a combination of formal training with TAFE NSW and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and our host employer, Shoalhaven City Council.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain and install varying telecommunications and security equipment
• Undertake practical work by hand including running cables, connecting comms, security, and power equipment
• Computer-based work, programming equipment and recording details

This position will commence in early 2026.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following selection criteria:

• Lean towards technology and associated equipment
• Good mathematics and computer skills
• Willing to work at heights (advantageous)
• Knowledge and understanding of the trade
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Physically capable to complete tasks
• Demonstrated ability for high safety standards
• Demonstrated customer service values
• Commitment to completing the apprenticeship

Mandatory Requirements

• WHS Construction Industry Induction (White Card)
• Completed School Certificate
• Manual Drivers Licence – P1 or above
• Willingness to undergo a standard medical and drug and alcohol screening.
