Key Responsibilities

As a Retail Manager, you will:

  • Oversee daily operations of the fuel station and retail outlet to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Manage financial operations, including budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor inventory levels for both fuel and retail stock, ensuring timely reordering to meet customer demands.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints, ensuring exceptional levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the maintenance and safety of the facility, including regular inspections of fuel pumps, convenience store equipment, and overall cleanliness.
  • Prepare and analyse operational reports to identify trends, optimize processes, and improve profitability
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including fuel handling protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Handle cash management, including daily reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with company cash-handling policies.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and securing competitive pricing.
  • Lead and manage staff, including recruitment, rostering, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Train staff on customer service best practices and operational procedures to uphold quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to implement loyalty programs and promotional campaigns tailored to local customer preferences.
  • Develop and maintain community relationships, promoting the business as a trusted local service provider.
  • Actively participate in strategic planning for business growth and innovation to stay ahead in the competitive retail market.

Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Management or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of proven experience in the retail industry, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Sound financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in managing inventory and supplier relationships.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and multitasking abilities.
