About the role

We are seeking an experienced Coordinator to work in our Industrial Blasting & Painting Workshop in Mount Isa, Queensland. As the Coordinator, you will play a key role in assisting in the efficient and effective operation of our workshop, which provides high-quality painting and blasting services to a range of industrial clients. This is a full-time position based in our Mount Isa facility.

Industrial Painter and Blaster positions also available.

What you'll be doing

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the industrial blasting and painting workshop
  • Work closely with supervisors and a team of skilled tradespeople, including painters and blasters
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks, setting up steelwork for painting and blasting, packing up steel for delivery and moving items between our 2 work sites.
  • Operate forklift to assist with completing tasks around the workshop.
  • Assist team with various maintenance work and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns around the workshop.
  • Manage inventory, materials, and equipment to support efficient workshop operations
  • Coordinate incoming jobs and work flow to get jobs completed in a timely manner.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in a supervisory or coordinating role within an industrial workshop setting. Blasting & Painting experience NOT strictly necessary but advantageous.
  • Truck (MR) licence a must
  • A physically fit individual with capabilities to cope with manual work.
  • A literate individual with an ability to organise, plan work and complete paperwork.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities to ensure efficient workshop operations
