About SJP Wellbeing
SJP Wellbeing is a Person First counselling, psychotherapy, and education practice based in Smithfield, South Australia. We provide trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, and evidence-based support for individuals, families, workplaces, and communities. Our team combines relational depth with practical, integrative approaches to help people build connection, resilience, and wellbeing. Services include private counselling, EAP partnerships, NDIS supports, and workplace training through the SJP Wellbeing Academy. We believe people are not problems to be fixed, but stories to be understood.
The Role
We're looking for a qualified Counsellor to join our collaborative, trauma-informed team. This role suits a practitioner with at least one year of post-qualification experience who feels confident holding a varied caseload of individuals, young people, and families. You'll provide counselling within an integrative, Person First framework that values authenticity, collaboration, and professional growth.
We're seeking someone who's excited to be part of an evolving business that partners with charities and community organisations to reimagine what therapy can look like for different people at different stages of life. At SJP Wellbeing, we're growing quickly and evolving together — creating, recreating, and collaborating to make therapy accessible, relational, and impactful.
This role may begin with a gradual caseload while you settle into our systems and approach, with the opportunity to grow as the practice expands. Practitioners who bring an existing caseload or strong referral base will be supported and rewarded accordingly.

• Professional membership with ACA (Level 2 or above) or PACFA (Provisional or Clinical).
• Minimum 1 year full-time equivalent counselling experience, post-qualification.
• Experience working with young people and families, and an understanding of developmental and relational trauma.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
• Commitment to SJP Wellbeing's Person First ethos — compassion, collaboration, and inclusion.
