The Australian Children's Music Foundation ) is seeking an experienced, vibrant and engaging teaching musician to conduct classroom group music lessons at 2 primary schools in the Northern suburbs of Perth (Balga and Koondoola) and one in the Southern suburbs (Camillo).

The ACMF provides children with the opportunity to learn music, encouraging a child's natural capacity to play, learn and grow.

About the position

This position involves teaching music to primary school classes each week of school term at each of the three schools for 1 day per week (during school hours) - a total of 3 days work per school week. Depending on applicants availability, we may employ more than one person to cover these positions and split this workload. The position would be on contract for the school year in 2026.

Candidates for the position should have experience as a performing musician and teacher, preferably with experience teaching groups of children. It is expected that the successful candidate will teach a variety of musical instruments such as tuned and untuned percussion, ukulele, guitar, singing and hand drumming. A vibrant and engaging teaching style and the ability to generate a rapport with students is vital.

In addition to the teaching work, there is the possibility for a successful applicant to have additional duties overseeing program management of our activities in WA. This would involve up to 40 additional days of work and the possibility of travel.

You will be required to have a valid WA working with children check for this position. The ACMF has a child protection policy and code of conduct that applies to all contractors in child related roles.
