CGI Specialist

Overview

One of the world's top architecture practices is looking to hire a CGI Specialist for their Sydney office. You will be working to provide support to architectural project teams through production of architectural stills, animations, and virtual reality imagery.

Roles and responsibilities

• Work with Project Teams in Sydney and Melbourne to create high-quality architectural visualisations via 3D still and animated renderings, and 2D illustrations, manifested in compelling imagery
• Work as part of a project team, or independently, with output that meets high standards and tight deadlines
• Work with the CGI teams in London, New York in the development of CGI styles and shared resources
• Maintain company standard systems within the department by saving, storing and archiving data according to established protocols and workflows
• Taking concept sketches and basic models and interpreting the design intent to produce photorealistic images and animations
• Exporting geometry and 3D models, and management of models from the architectural team, using software such as Rhino
• Rendering both illustrative and photoreal images through the Vray engine with 3D Studio Max, importing of rendered elements to Photoshop for stills post production, or After effects for Animation post production
• Video clip editing in Premier to provide support to both the Architectural teams and the Communications team
• Production of interactive Virtual Reality images for both in-house design development and client

Skills and Experience

• Beneficial: Bachelor's degree in architecture or industrial design preferred with at least 3 years' experience in a design firm environment
• Expert knowledge of modelling, rendering, and animation in 3DS Max;
• Expert knowledge of GI rendering packages such as Vray or Mental Ray; Adobe Photoshop or Da Vinci for video post and Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premier
• Beneficial to have demonstrated experience with Unreal Engine
• Experience with Rhino 3D and Revit
• Experience of Linear workflow with 3D modeling for both quick CGI and detailed CAD purposes
• High level of experience translating architectural sketches and CAD documents into realised 3D models and images
• Strong communications skills and a self-driven work ethic
• Able to work to and adhere to tight deadlines
