Pre-Admission Registered Nurse DIV. 1 – Rosebud/Hampton 4 days per week

  • We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Pre-Admission Nurse to join the perioperative team at Direct Endoscopy, undertaking preoperative assessments for patients scheduled for day surgery.

Candidates must have a minimum of 5+ years of nursing experience.

Experience in pre-admission or perioperative nursing is preferred for this role.

We are currently seeking

  • Part-Time RN based at Rosebud and Hampton
  • A travel allowance may be applicable when supporting multiple sites.

About the Role

The RN liaises with VMOs, anaesthetists, GPs, patients, and families via email, phone, or direct contact to collect patient histories and provide education, support, and guidance for pre- and post-operative care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Practice appropriate telephone and patient triage
  • Perform preadmission patient screening via phone/email
  • Communicate clinical information to relevant team members
  • Ensure pre-op requirements are met using the nursing process
  • Educate patients in line with organisational protocols
  • Assess health history, plan, implement, and evaluate care
  • Promote safety by addressing physical and psychological needs
  • Respond to email/phone inquiries from patients
  • Conduct outbound follow-up calls as needed
  • Escalate concerns or special requirements to anaesthetists or clinical staff

Key Selection Criteria

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Registered with AHPRA
  • Bachelor of Nursing

Essential:

  • Annual BLS competency
  • Registered Nurse DIV. 1
  • Valid National Police Check
  • Ability and willingness to travel between sites
  • Reliable car and driver licence
  • Fully vaccinated against VPD's.

Desirable:

  • Experience in an administrative nursing role
  • Experience in Day Surgery nursing
  • Acute care, surgical, and day hospital experience demonstrating clinical competence in nursing practice
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Great attention to detail with exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent computer literacy including proficiency with electronic medical records
  • Professional self-awareness and maintains accountability
  • Knowledge and experience of the Healthcare Standards Accreditation process
  • Sound computer literacy in desktop applications and patient management systems
