About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter/Welder to join our team in a full-time position. You will be responsible for identifying faults, proactively repairing machinery, and performing preventative maintenance. This ensures that the production team can consistently produce high-quality products.
This hands-on role involves maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment. Our dynamic and ever-evolving manufacturing business thrives on a deep commitment to quality products, excellent service, and dedicated personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fault finding and break down repairs
- Repair of production machinery parts, replacement of production machinery parts
- Preventative maintenance and servicing of all food production equipment
- Perform Stick TIG (Stainless Steel) welding
- Planning and implementation of various maintenance projects
- Communicate effectively with staff
- Constant review of production equipment to ensure optimal effectiveness
- Provide coverage for annual and personal leave of other Maintenance members across all shifts
Safety:
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures including utilising the LOTO system
- Contribute to a culture that promotes the safety and well-being of all employees
- Lead by example at all times
Qualifications:
- Maintenance Fitter, Fitter & Turner
- Restricted Electrical License (Advantageous)
- Current Drivers License
- Current Forklift License (Advantageous)
- Working and Heights training (Advantageous)
- Elevated work platform training (Advantageous)
- Confined space entry certificate (Advantageous)
- First Aid certificate (Advantageous)
Skills and Knowledge:
- Food manufacturing FMCG experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in an industrial/production/facility maintenance environment
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintenance issues
- Planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical aptitude
- Reliable, motivated, and punctual
- Have a strong work ethic
- Be physically fit and healthy for work
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work under limited supervision and independently
- Good communication skills
- Understanding and practice of food hygiene and food handling concepts
- Prioritising work in step with any issues that arise
- Complete preventative maintenance requests as per schedule and delegation from maintenance supervisor
- A willingness to work overtime to support business needs
