Job Description: General Practitioner
(South African to Relocate to Australia)

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat physical and mental illnesses, disorders, and injuries
  • Recommend preventative actions to maintain patient health
  • Refer patients to specialists, healthcare workers, and support services when necessary

Qualifications/Registrations required:

  • South Africa
  • Holders of Master of Family Medicine, South Africa
  • Holders of Fellowship of the College of Family Physicians.

Additional Information:

  • Doctors in Australia complete a minimum of 4 years at university, followed by a 12-month internship and further specialty training.
  • International medical graduates must meet specific requirements through the Competent Authority Pathway or Specialist Pathway.
  • Assistance with the registration and VISA process is provided, with options for Permanent Resident VISA or a 4-year Temporary VISA leading to Australian Citizenship. Processing times range from 1 week to 6 months.
