This business is an expanding payments and margin trading company committed to providing secure, efficient, and scalable payment solutions to their clients. In a time of growth this business is seeking an additional headcount to the Compliance team to help maintain the highest standards of integrity and security across all payment related transactions.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced
Compliance Manager
to join an existing team and play a strategic role focusing efforts on real-time transaction monitoring, fraud prevention, transaction analysis, and upcoming reporting. The ideal candidate should have exposure to the FX payments industry, with a strong understanding of the regulatory controls specific to Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the company adheres to Australian regulatory requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF).
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest regulatory changes and industry trends, ensuring compliance with all local and international standards affecting payments.
  • Continuously enhance transaction monitoring processes, leveraging advanced technology and data analytics to identify suspicious transactions promptly.
  • Analyze transaction data and identify patterns indicative of fraud or other illegal activities, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee the analysis of payment transactions and related activities, providing actionable insights into compliance trends and potential risks.
  • Produce regular compliance reports for senior management and regulatory bodies, detailing findings from transaction monitoring, fraud prevention activities, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead internal and external audits to assess the effectiveness of compliance controls and identify areas for improvement.
  • Investigate and respond to compliance-related incidents, providing detailed reports and resolutions to mitigate future occurrences.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Knowledge of Australian financial regulations, including AML/CTF laws, the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) requirements, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Expertise in real-time transaction monitoring, fraud detection, and risk management within the payments industry.
  • In-depth understanding of payment systems, digital transactions, and the technological landscape of the payments sector.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while maintaining independence and integrity in compliance activities.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex compliance issues into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field. Professional certifications in compliance (e.g., ACAMS, ICA) are a plus.
