Patio is our signature a la carte restaurant located at the Woden venue. While not fine dining, Patio offers a refined, elevated experience that focuses on attentive service, quality food and beverages, and an inviting atmosphere. It's a venue where professionalism, care, and consistency are key.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to support the day-to-day operations of Patio. This hands-on supervisory role is suited to an individual who leads by example and takes pride in delivering high-quality service. You will oversee floor operations, guide and support team members, and ensure a smooth, efficient, and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Primary Purpose

  • Supervise and coordinate floor service in line with Club standards to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Support the development of team capability through coaching and daily leadership
  • Ensure the overall presentation, atmosphere, and efficiency of the restaurant are maintained at a high standard
  • Build strong rapport with guests to promote return visits and positive feedback.

Key Result Areas

  • Deliver consistently high standards of food and beverage service, contributing to customer satisfaction and increased revenue (measured by Net Promoter Scores).
  • Encourage guest loyalty and retention through professional and attentive service
  • Maintain staff presentation and grooming to Club expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and uphold a safe environment for staff and patrons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet and greet guests, manage seating flow, and ensure their needs are anticipated and met throughout service.
  • Supervise restaurant floor operations and coordinate communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
  • Monitor and support staff performance, providing guidance and coaching as needed.
  • Assist in pre-service setup and post-service pack down to ensure the venue is always guest-ready.
  • Ensure service areas, equipment, and promotional materials are well-maintained and presented.
  • Promote product knowledge and up-selling across the team to enhance the dining experience.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns professionally, escalating where appropriate
  • Complete end-of-day revenue balancing and follow all Club procedures for handling transactions.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in food and beverage service, with supervisory experience in a restaurant or similar setting.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team.
  • Sound knowledge of a la carte service and industry best practices.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage service flow during peak periods.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • ACT RSA Certificate (mandatory).
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work a flexible roster including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
