About the role.

Our Reception Team is the first point of contact for our patients, whether it be on the phone, or face to face. As such, it is crucial that they share our desire to make the patient feel validated and comforted, as they are often reaching out to us when they are at their most vulnerable.

The Casual role of Receptionist at Hawthorne Clinic requires warmth, energy and enthusiasm, but also compassion and understanding. It will see you day to day:

This position requires availability to work weekends as part of the casual roster.

This casual position typically offers 5-10 hours per week.

  • Handling and managing wide ranging phone enquiries, with a service driven style who truly cares about the patient.
  • Managing patient expectations whilst utilising available resources to allocate available appointments.
  • Processing payments, document processing, scanning, emailing, etc.
  • Coordinating an open-flow of communication between Doctors and patients.

About You.

You probably describe yourself as a cooperative, supporting, empathetic and service oriented individual. You are passionate about providing a thorough and reliable service to patients and thrive in a busy and vibrant environment. You have the capability and desire to provide excellent customer service and relish in the continual challenge of assessing and managing the patient's expected outcomes and being the first step in the solution.

What you bring to the role.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and processes.
  • Experience with 'Best Practice' clinical and management software will be highly regarded, however is not critical.
  • Strong communication skills with a desire to listen and be harmonious.
  • Pleasant phone manner is essential.
  • Experience in a Medical Reception role is ideal but not essential.
  • Compassionate and strong team skills.
  • Must hold permanent resident status or appropriate Australian work rights.
