With more than three decades of experience in the industry, this organisation has built a strong reputation for delivering premium national road freight distribution, express and specialised transport, and tailored supply chain solutions to blue-chip clients across Australia. As part of its ongoing growth and investment in operational excellence, the business is now seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join its finance team.
This role is not only about ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll for a workforce of over 350 employees each week-it is also about shaping the future of payroll operations within the business. You will play an integral part in supporting payroll system upgrades, driving process improvements, and partnering with key stakeholders to embed best practice across the group.
As Payroll Officer, you will oversee the end-to-end payroll function using ADP, ensuring accuracy across timesheets, leave balances, employee records, and salary data. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with statutory obligations, taxation requirements, and reporting standards, while your proactive approach will identify opportunities to streamline and enhance payroll processes. Working closely with HR, you will contribute to the ongoing maintenance of the Employee Masterfile and support financial reporting and month-end payroll activities.
To succeed in this role, you will bring at least five years' experience managing full-function payroll, with strong award interpretation skills and proven capability in maintaining data accuracy and integrity. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, coupled with experience in ADP and Kronos Realtime systems, will allow you to navigate payroll complexities with confidence. Just as importantly, you will have a collaborative mindset, an eye for process improvement, and a genuine passion for delivering payroll excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity to take your payroll career forward with purpose, contributing not only to the day-to-day function but also to the evolution of payroll systems and practices within a nationally recognised business.
If you are ready to make an impact, apply now or contact Andrew on for a confidential discussion.
