Principal Scientist, Translational Biology
to join our dynamic, lean team and drive programs from discovery through to key value-creating milestones.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Translational Biology and working closely with project teams to:

Lead and execute translational biology activities including target and biology validation, assay development, in vivo pharmacology and toxicology, and biomarker identification.
·
Plan, manage and deliver pre-clinical studies, critically analyse data, inform go/no-go decisions, and support development of project plans and timelines.
·
Manage relationships and projects with multiple key stakeholders such as University Project Teams, consultants, and CROs, ensuring clear communication and high-quality results are delivered. This includes outreach, study design, method development and refinement, data generation, data analysis, and data reporting.
·
Contribute to assessment of new project and investment opportunities and support preparation of reports, presentations, investment proposals, and funding materials.

Support selection, development and execution of projects by assisting with organisational and operational tasks. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of BioCurate's capabilities, processes, systems to help achieve BioCurate's mission.
About You
You thrive in a collaborative, matrixed environment where you can be hands-on and scientifically rigorous. You bring:

A PhD (or equivalent)
in Immunology, Cell Biology, Pathology, Cancer Biology, Pharmacology or related discipline, with
3+ years of postdoctoral and/or industry R&D experience
and a
strong publication record
.

Demonstrated experience contributing to project management, designing and executing
in vivo
studies and assay development for target/biology validation, mechanism of action studies and drug screening.
·
Comprehensive knowledge of biology methods relevant to early-stage drug discovery and development such as molecular biology techniques, omics approaches, cellular biology and in vivo animal models of disease.
·
Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to critically evaluate projects according to scientific, commercial, and pharmacology criteria and identify key gaps and mitigation strategies
·
Demonstrated ability to effectively and simultaneously work on various activities across multiple projects, anticipate and identify project risks and proactively implement and suggest appropriate mitigation strategies.
