Utility-scale wind farm construction project in South Australia (rural). The Site HSE Representative serves as the Principal's dedicated health, safety, and environmental authority, ensuring a safety-first culture and regulatory compliance across all construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Principal's HSE Representative on site.
  • Promote and embed a strong safety culture aligned with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, audit, and report on contractor HSE compliance against approved management plans and project agreements.
  • Develop and implement project-specific HSE audit tools.
  • Track and close out HSE audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Prepare HSE reports including contractor performance, incidents, hazards, and hours worked for inclusion in project reporting.
  • Identify and address gaps or non-compliances in contractor HSE plans.
  • Ensure field implementation of the Project HSE Management System aligns with Australian legal, client, and internal standards.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct audits of contractor safety management systems.
  • Lead field HSE assurance activities including job reviews, inspections, and audits.
  • Collaborate effectively with client teams and contractors to ensure a unified approach to safety.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety, and Environment or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in HSE roles within the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation and its practical application in field environments.
  • Proven experience managing HSE systems and contractor performance on complex projects.
  • HSE Auditor qualification is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently in remote or high-pressure environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and competing priorities calmly and professionally.
  • Committed to fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and safety-focused culture.
