About the opportunity:

Northern Star Resources have an exciting opportunity for a Trainer & Assessor, supporting the Open Pit Department at our Thunderbox Operations. FIFO ex Perth, 14:14 roster.

Here's what awaits you:

  • Work with supervisors and managers to ensure that competencies, compliances and procedures required for each role reflect the work they undertake.
  • Work with supervisors to maintain an acceptable standard of training competence.
  • Maintain INX InTuition for the Open Pit Department, including any permanent contract staff.
  • Keep up to date records of all personnel training records.
  • Maintain a training requirements register to ensure personnel training targets are met to achieve area competencies.
  • Maintain the department training and skills competency matrix.
  • Align training for compliance as required e.g. Working at Heights.
  • Ensure compliance of personnel with site and corporate training requirements.
  • Ensure personnel complete training requirements in a timely manner.
  • Attend prestart meetings and provide feedback as required
  • Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) updating, review and writing.
  • Conversion of JHA's to procedures.
  • Carry out workplace inspections.
  • Department specific inductions and assist with site inductions as required.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

Experience: 3 years' experience in a similar role, within an open pit mining environment

Qualification: Certificate IV in Training and Assessing, Senior First Aid Certificate and current Australian C - Class Drivers Licence

Passion for growth: Genuine passion for the Australian gold mining industry with high regard for safety
