About the Opportunity

We're looking for a passionate Senior Baker to join our Byron Bay team on a full-time basis. In this role, you'll work closely with the Store Manager to help run the new Byron Bay store from a back-of-house baking perspective. Roles & Responsibilities

• Partner with the Head of Product to roll out new recipes and train the bakery team.
• Support and guide the bakery team in daily production tasks.
• Perform daily baking and preparation of products in line with established standards.
• Maintain consistent product quality and ensure adherence to recipe and presentation standards.
• Follow production schedules accurately to meet daily output targets.
• Drive productivity and efficiency in the kitchen to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain high product standards while managing resources cost-effectively.
• Identify and reduce waste in production by using seasonal ingredients and optimising processes.
• Ensure the bakery is kept to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Monitor and maintain bakery equipment, ensuring compliance with health and sanitation standards.
• Promote and adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations within the kitchen environment.

The Ideal Candidate Must Have:

• 2 years experience as Senior Pastry chef, baker or chef
• Strong work ethic and a "can do" attitude
• Commercial cooking/ pastry qualification or a reasonable amount of prior experience
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and efficiently
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• NSW FSS (Food Safety Supervisor) Certificate
