Teacher Librarian Full time position Maitland Christian School and Arise Christian College are in an exciting season of growth. Applications Close Thursday, 20th November 2025 The position: Key responsibilities Maintain library operations including cataloguing, circulation, returns, shelving, and stocktaking Deliver engaging literature programs aligned with curriculum and student interests Promote reading and research across our school community Support students and staff with printing, photocopying, and online research Collaborate with teachers to plan, teach, and evaluate integrated learning experiences Maintain and develop library systems, technologies, and displays Manage and supervise library staff, volunteers, and student assistants Coordinate events such as Book Week, Book Character Dress-Up Day, Scholastic Book Fairs and other literacy events like the inter-school book quiz Supervision & tutoring of senior students as required during student study periods. Our ideal candidate will: · Be a Christian, active in their local church and supportive of the mission of the school · Have a discerning Christian Worldview to ensure library literature choices align with the school ethos and mission · Have a love of literature and an enthusiasm for sharing this with students · Possess strong behaviour management and teaching strategies · Have a collaborative, supportive attitude with a desire to engage across year levels · Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills · Process knowledge of current library resources, systems (e.g. Oliver), and technologies · Have the ability to manage library spaces and personnel effectively Essential criteria: · Teacher Librarian qualifications · Current NSW Teacher Registration · Current Working with Children Check · Proven experience with library systems and information management · Ability to lead reading programs and support curriculum delivery strong ICT and digital resource management skills Selection Process Following the closure of applications, the School's Selection Committee will consider applications and contact suitable candidates for an interview.
