HSBC Global Trade Solutions (GTS) is one of the largest trade services organisations in the world, offering a comprehensive range of forward-thinking supply chain and traditional trade solutions. The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for the successful implementation of GTS Product strategy in Australia and New Zealand. This includes maintaining and enhancing existing products, implementing new solutions, deploying new IT platforms, integration with third party suppliers, collaborating closely with regional and global product teams in the design of global and country client lead solutions.
This role is a great opportunity to use your existing experience in trade finance to work with sophisticated complex clients and senior stakeholders internally, regularly interacting with all sales, implementation, operations, client services and regional and global product teams
Responsibilities:
- Driving the commercialization of products and manage the product financials including revenues, costs and other key indicators working closely with Sales and Client Management teams.
- Implementing regional and global propositions to meet market needs, setting quantifiable targets
- Influencing adoption of product through training front line teams, driving accountability and outcomes on product commercialization across all segments.
- Supporting Head of Product and Head of GTS on industry roundtables, conferences and client events to foster deeper partnerships with industry players and platforms.
- Managing the development and implementation of the product strategy across the countries with particular focus on improving the client experience and satisfaction.
- Maintaining country financial accountability for the economic profit derived from trade finance products, controlled to ensure they satisfactorily contribute to overall customer profitability.
- Leading the ongoing development of Trade, Receivables Finance and Corporate & Structured Finance legal documentation - both in the context of newly developed products and in client implementations.
- Overseeing provision of product awareness training for sales, lending, service and other personnel.
- Working closely with Group entities in other regions to ensure adoption of best practices and reflect the global nature of the GTRF business
- Promoting a culture of professional, programme/project leadership in a client-facing delivery environment, with accountability for all implementation activities as part of client transition through the solutions delivery lifecycle to business-as-usual.
- Client Consultation – Building a truly collaborative client-solutioning model, developing the organisational expertise to facilitate the client decision-making process leveraging the optimum technology solution(s), in line with desired product and technical capabilities and overarching business strategy.
- Project Governance & Control - focussing on the effective management of delivery, commercial & operational risk as part of deal execution and fulfilment lifecycle.
Requirements:
- You will have proven experience in a product management, business development, client service, operations or client services gained within a banking or financial services environment, with exposure to guarantees and / or standby letters of credit.
- Possessing strong knowledge of trade finance with focus on underlying technology and implementation processes
- An ability to analyse and think logically to solve problems and develop solutions, enjoying the challenge of working with more complex client cases, documents and requirements.
- Negotiation and change management skills are key
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
- A genuine customer service focus, with the flexibility and desire to learn in a collaborative team environment.
- An understanding of digital platforms and channels in trade finance ecosystem is an advantage, but not essential.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
