**Senior Hardware & Software Integration Engineer (Hardware | Embedded Linux | Cloud/Web)**
The Company
A pioneering Australian tech organisation is scaling fast — building world-class hardware combined with embedded Linux IoT systems and a cloud-based application powering real-time data experiences.
Our client engineers the future from end to end: custom hardware, embedded software, firmware, backend services and modern web UI — all integrated into one seamless product ecosystem.
If you want a role where your work directly impacts the reliability, performance and success of a complex product used globally — this is the team you want to be part of.
The Role
As the Senior Hardware & Software Integration Engineer, you'll be the glue across the entire tech stack. Your mission: ensure hardware, firmware, embedded Linux systems, backend services and web UI all play perfectly together.
You'll validate releases, break things beautifully, find problems others can't, and make sure everything works together reliably — every time.
A blend of hands-on technical testing, system-level thinking and investigative curiosity, this role is ideal for someone who loves understanding how everything connects in the real world.
Responsibilities
- Own system integration testing across hardware, embedded Linux, backend and web
- Create and maintain test plans, cases and data across the product stack
- Plan and execute regression, functional and end-to-end release testing
- Investigate, reproduce and isolate hardware/software issues with clarity
- Verify accurate device-to-server data transmission and UI display
- Work closely with Hardware teams on device, firmware and reliability testing
- Collaborate with Software teams to validate system behaviour and integration
- Log, track, retest defects using internal issue tracking systems
- Drive process improvement across QA, documentation and release workflows
- Support risk analysis, fault discovery and continuous test improvement
You
You think in systems. You enjoy connecting dots others can't see. You love building reliable products and thrive in environments where hardware and software meet.
You'll bring:
- Experience testing or integrating hardware + software products
- Understanding of embedded systems or Linux devices
- Strong debugging/analysis skills across multiple layers
- Ability to communicate issues clearly and constructively
- A collaborative mindset — you work well with engineers across disciplines
- Strong documentation & reporting discipline
Bonus superpowers:
- Embedded Linux experience (logs, services, scripting)
- Test automation using Python/Bash, CI exposure
- Electronics/IoT/mechatronics background
Personality & values matter here — we want curious thinkers, makers, problem solvers and genuinely good humans who show up with ownership, humility, resilience and optimism. No egos. Just excellence.
Benefits
- Influence core product quality in a high-impact engineering role
- Work across hardware, embedded software, backend and web — rare end-to-end scope
- A culture of innovation, autonomy and trust — no micro-management
- Real career growth in a scaling tech company
- Flexible, balanced work environment that values wellbeing
- You'll be proud to tell your friends what you're working on
