Contractor role | Remote | $200–$250 per hour

About the role

Zen Medical is seeking experienced Telehealth Doctors, ideally with TGA Authorised Prescriber status. As an independent contractor, you will deliver high-quality medical cannabis consultations and e-prescriptions to patients living with chronic conditions across Australia. We provide training and ongoing support, ensuring you feel confident and supported in this role.

This position offers complete flexibility — work from anywhere in Australia with a reliable internet connection — while making a genuine difference to patient health and wellbeing.


Key responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive telehealth consultations to assess patient needs and develop safe, effective treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medical cannabis when clinically appropriate and monitor patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with GPs, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical notes and comply with all AHPRA, TGA, and legal obligations.
  • Keep up to date with current medical cannabis guidelines, evidence, and prescribing standards.

What we're looking for
  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner.
  • TGA Authorised Prescriber status preferred (support available for those applying).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience practicing in Australia, ideally in General Practice.
  • Strong communication and empathy skills to build trust with patients.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and handle a steady patient flow.
  • Experience with telehealth platforms and reliable high-speed internet (minimum 30 Mbps down/7 Mbps up).
  • Current professional indemnity insurance appropriate for telehealth practice.
