Knox Grammar School is an independent, multi-campus Kindergarten to Year 12 day and boarding school for boys, located at Wahroonga on Sydney's North Shore. In addition to the single-sex campuses, Knox also operates Wahroonga Preparatory School, a co-educational campus for students Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.

ABOUT THE ROLE
An opportunity has arisen at Knox Grammar Preparatory campus for a 12-month fixed term (0.4 FTE) Science Teacher, commencing Term 1, 2026.
Ideally, the successful candidate will teach a 0.4 load across three days, from Monday to Wednesday each week. Hours will be 9:30am to 2:30pm on Monday and Wednesday, and from 11:00am to 4:30pm on Tuesday; however, alternative arrangements can be discussed, and will be considered.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold relevant education qualifications including a current NESA accreditation.
- Be skilled in a variety of teaching strategies, recognising that students learn in a variety of ways, through independent inquiry, directed learning, collaborative group work and practical engagements
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to analyse data to understand each boy's needs, and to personalise learning for students
- Create a stimulating, active learning environment, where students are challenged and supported
- Uses effective classroom management strategies
- Fosters positive relationships that inspire students to thrive and fulfil their potential
Essential Criteria:
- NESA approved Teaching degree
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Deeply understands the K-6 NESA Science & Technology Syllabus and its application in an integrated curriculum
- Is confident in working with new NESA syllabuses to design robust units of work
- Works collaboratively with classroom teachers to plan, implement, assess and report on units of work
- Have a current Working with Children Check number
Desirable Criteria:
- First Aid and CPR certificate
