The Opportunity

As an Applications Developer, you'll help design and build the digital backbone of Smart Energy - sleek, high-performance applications that make energy smarter, faster, and more personal. You'll work at the intersection of renewable energy and emerging technology, using the latest frameworks and agile methods to turn bold ideas into seamless user experiences.

Please note: This role requires you to be on site Mon–Fri in our vibrant Byron Bay HQ located in the industrial estate.


What You'll Do:

Application Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain customer-, operations-, and supplier-facing applications across mobile, tablet, and web platforms.
  • Create high-quality, responsive interfaces with a focus on speed, usability, and design excellence.
  • Ensure that all applications are deeply integrated into Smart Energy's Salesforce ERP and other core business systems.
  • Build reusable components and frameworks to enable faster delivery of new products and experiences.
  • Maintain clean, secure, and efficient code adhering to Smart Energy's technical and data standards.

Requirements Gathering & Solution Design

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand and document requirements, translating them into functional and technical specifications.
  • Conduct workshops and discovery sessions to identify process inefficiencies and digital opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Salesforce team, UX designers, and project leads to prototype and validate solutions.
  • Ensure developed applications align with business goals, user needs, and technology best practices.

Systems Integration & Automation

  • Implement and manage robust integrations between Salesforce and external systems using APIs and middleware.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives that improve workflow efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Support data flow design and synchronization to maintain a single source of truth within Salesforce.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Actively identify opportunities to enhance Smart Energy's digital experience and internal platforms.
  • Stay informed on emerging frameworks, mobile/web technologies, and design trends.
  • Contribute to Agile sprint planning, peer code reviews, and iterative development cycles.
  • Partner closely with business analysts, developers, and other IT team members to ensure smooth delivery of all projects.

What You Bring:
  • Strong front-end development skills in React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Experience in mobile app development (React Native, Flutter, or similar).
  • Proven experience in Salesforce integration and working with RESTful APIs.
  • Back-end experience in , Python, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with authentication, data security, and scalability best practices.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and version control tools such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.

Preferred Experience:
  • Developing customer or partner portals connected to enterprise systems.
  • Experience with Salesforce Lightning Web Components, Experience Cloud, or AppExchange solutions.
  • Understanding of UI/UX design principles and collaboration with design teams using tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.
  • Experience in sales enablement, supplier management, or operational process digitization.
