Position Information

Porters Creek Public School opened in 2022, serving a diverse and growing community with an anticipated 380 students by Term 1, 2026. With 15% identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and 22% speaking English as an Additional Language or Dialect, we embrace inclusivity and academic excellence in state-of-the-art facilities featuring flexible indoor and outdoor learning spaces.

Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach K-6, with demonstrated ability to design and deliver high-quality, evidence-based teaching programs that build foundational literacy and numeracy skills through explicit teaching strategies, tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative teamwork, continuous professional development, and the use of data-driven insights to inform reflective practice, share expertise, and foster a culture of ongoing improvement that ensures positive student outcomes.
  • Proven ability to foster a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing and engagement through proactive behaviour management, supports a growth mindset, and utilises flexible indoor and outdoor learning spaces creatively to inspire curiosity, collaboration, and innovation, including expertise in STEM education.
  • Experience in developing, leading, and promoting extra-curricular programs—including sport—that enhance student development, personal growth, and wellbeing, alongside demonstrated experience in building positive relationships and working collaboratively with parents and carers to support student learning and improve educational outcomes.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
