Casual Chef

Catering Industries Pty Ltd is a leading provider of contracted hospitality services (catering, cleaning and laundry) to Australia's health and aged care, education, government, corporate and resources sector. We currently employ over 2,000 personnel across various operations in our active market.

Base award hourly rate for this role is $33 plus casual loading ($41.25 per hour for Monday - Friday)

About the role

Reporting to the chef manager, we are seeking a casual Chef to work in our kitchen team at our client's canteen facility in Dubbo.

Roster:

• Multiple morning and afternoon shift across Monday to Sunday. (6.00am pm and 11:00am pm)
• Casual permanent position for the right applicant.

*The successful applicant must have received at least 2 doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine, and provide a current Police check, or be willing to apply for one*

Skills and experience

• 3+ years' experience in a similar role
• Cert III in commercial cookery desirable
• Experience in large volume cooking as well as work autonomously and in group settings
• Reliable and punctual
• Collaborative and team player
• Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines.
• Experienced in ordering, delivery and handling/control of stock.
• Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients.
• High level of QA, WH&S, HACCP and Food Safety knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Ability to produce high quality meals in line with food service/HACCP guidelines, Quality Assurance procedures.
• Assisting in menu design, changes and implementation.
• Assist with putting away of deliveries & general kitchen clean up duties.
• Good all-rounder in kitchen i.e.  scones, cakes, desserts, soups.
• Responsible for preparation of special diets.
• Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Function within a busy kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team.
