Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of trailers from dock to dock in a busy distribution centre. This role is a safety critical role and prior demonstrated experience in this environment is required.

Shifts are a mix of weekday and weekend shifts, this is for an ongoing, permanent, secure position.

Tasks relating to the role include but are not limited to:


• Operate trucks, tugs and related equipment to move trailers, containers and equipment as required.


• Ensure timely and accurate movement of trailers, containers and equipment between loading docks, warehouses, and storage areas.


• Secure loads safely and in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines. Follow all safety, security, and operational protocols on site.


• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any issues. Report any maintenance needs.


• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and other drivers.


• Accurately complete logs, reports, and records of movement as required. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, quality, and environmental compliance.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Secondary education or equivalent

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

At least one (1) year of heavy vehicle driving experience.

Excellent driving record with no preventive accident

in the past 12 months and experience working within a busy distribution centre. Referees will be checked for demonstration of this outcome.

Licences

Minimum HC Licence

REQUIRED.
