We are currently looking for a part-time / casual Laboratory Assistant for hours per week.

Carry out laboratory duties as needed, including:

  • Assisting with preparation of growth media;
  • Plant tissue culture;
  • Recording experimental results;
  • Managing nursery plants; and
  • General operational duties (cleaning, ordering supplies, etc).

Key selection criteria:

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Ability to follow instruction;
  • Ability to work in an efficient manner with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of work;
  • Ability to lift 15-20kg;
  • Reliability; and
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

Preferred candidates will have:

  • Basic understanding of biology and chemistry; and
  • Studying of an Agricultural/ Horticultural / Science degree (preferred).
