About the role

Scotch Oakburn College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Groundsperson to join our vibrant school community. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for maintaining the stunning gardens and grounds that are integral to our campus in Launceston, TAS.

What you will be doing

1. Performing regular grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, weeding, and hedge trimming
2. Caring for garden beds, lawns, and landscaped areas to ensure they remain healthy and visually appealing
3. Assisting with the installation and upkeep of irrigation systems
4. Completing minor repairs and maintenance tasks around the campus as required
5. Providing support for school events and activities as needed
6. Adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols

What we are looking for

1. Previous experience in a grounds maintenance or gardening role, preferably within an educational or institutional setting
2. Strong practical skills and the ability to operate a range of gardening equipment and machinery
3. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation
4. The physical fitness and stamina to undertake manual labour tasks throughout the day
5. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
6. A positive, customer-focused attitude and the ability to interact professionally with the school community
