SLSQ Lifeguard Opportunity – Keeping Our Beaches & Lagoons Safe

Are you passionate about water safety and making a real difference in your community? Join our dedicated team of Lifeguards and play a vital role in protecting the public while creating a safe and welcoming environment for beachgoers and visitors. This is a casual position based in the Mackay Region.

What You'll Do:

  • Carry out professional lifeguard operations in your allocated patrol area.
  • Set up and maintain safe swimming zones, while keeping a close eye on hazards.
  • Maintain up-to-date lifesaving skills and fitness levels.
  • Provide safety advice to the public and stepping in with first aid, rescues, and resuscitation when needed.

About You:

  • Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain).
  • SLS Bronze Medallion and Certificate II in Public Safety.
  • First Aid & Advanced Resuscitation Certificates.
  • Strong swimming and fitness skills (lagoon or beach fitness testing applies).
  • A genuine commitment to safety, teamwork, and child safeguarding.
