About the role

South Melbourne Smash Repairs is seeking an experienced Panel Beater to join our dynamic team. This full-time position is based in our repair facility in South Melbourne, VIC 3205. As a Panel Beater, you will play a crucial role in the repair and restoration of damaged vehicles, ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and quality workmanship.

What you'll be doing

  1. Perform high-quality panel beating and body repairs on a variety of vehicles
  2. Use specialised tools and equipment to straighten, align and reshape damaged body panels
  3. Prepare a repaired surfaces to match the vehicle's original finish
  4. Liaise with management and provide updates on the progress of the vehicle's repairs
  5. Adhere to strict safety and quality standards to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our customers
  6. Collaborate with the wider team to deliver efficient and effective repair services

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Panel Beater in the automotive industry
  2. Strong technical skills and expertise in panel beating, dent removal, and vehicle preparation for painting
  3. Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical specifications and Job cards
  4. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  5. Good communication skills to liaise with customers and team members
  6. A positive, professional attitude and a strong work ethic
