Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) is seeking a motivated leader to take charge of our high-performing Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) team. This is your chance to step into a senior role where your specialised skills will make a lasting impact on patient outcomes and service excellence.

The Position:

In this role you will oversee the day to day running of the CSSD and work in collaboration with the Perioperative leadership team to ensure the needs and services of our consumers are met.  To be successful in this role you will provide effective leadership, direction and supervision to the instrument technician team ensuring appropriate departmental policies and procedures are in place and followed.

The Team:

BRHS's Perioperative Suite delivers exceptional care across a wide range of surgical services, supported by both local and visiting specialists. Our multidisciplinary team—including technical and support staff—works cohesively to provide high-quality health services to the East Gippsland community.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to lead, develop and support a high-performing team, including staff supervision and rostering within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Technical & Regulatory Expertise: Demonstrated competence across all areas of CSSD with a high degree of autonomy and accountability, guided by AS5369, GESA, GENCA standards and infection control principles.
  • Communication & Service Delivery: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise across teams, ensuring optimal service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Organisational & Time Management: Strong skills in priortising tasks, managing competing demands, and delivering quality customer service within tight timeframes.
